Veiled Emotions, A Story of Bullying

Veiled Emotions, A Story of Bullying

Veiled Emotions, a Story of Bullying is a story that many young people face every day not only in the school setting, but also in their homes. This book was created to help individuals recognize the signs of bullying. Bullying is being mean-spirited and can often lead to depression and suicidal thoughts. It comes in many forms such as: body shaming, name calling, and fighting. It can also present itself to kids who, like me, suffer with Asperger Syndrome (Neurodivergent). It is important to discuss this matter because there are many students out there like me who are often misunderstood or labeled as “retarded.” We sometimes shy away from social interaction, and can be very repetitive or a little clumsy, but we are intelligent and very articulate.

Kids go through so much in today’s world. They need the support not only from trusted friends, but also from their families and those that are placed in authority over them, such as teachers, counselors, and administrators. It truly takes a village to raise, encourage, and empower kids to be the best they can possibly be in this world. May we purpose to be a part of the solution, and not the problem.
