Sianni Cabello, author and nonprofit owner of SocialSocietyU, Inc., has written “The Adventurous Joy Cabello: an Afro-Latina Series” for those who want to learn more about the Afro-Latina culture as well as those who are experiencing this life on a day-to-day basis. She realized that Celia Cruz was the only televised Afro-Latina in Spanish arenas that she saw growing up. As a result, this book came to be and was designed to provide the world with more characters like Celia Cruz, who were, and yet are, so monumental to see growing up as an Afro Latinx.
