James E. Burks, Jr. is an 18-year old aspiring writer born and raised in a diverse community in Monroe, Louisiana. In addition to his writing, Burks is actively involved in community outreach activities and programs at Family Development Enterprise, Inc., where he is a Peer Educator. He promotes Youth Empowerment Classes and workshops that build healthy relationships, decision making, making healthy choices, communications, planning for the future, the damages of drugs and alcohol, teenage pregnancy, practicing abstinence, domestic violence and crime, dangers that exist with talking to strangers on social media, and cyber bullying.
