Fahren Johnson has been in the youth, community development, and expanded learning field for over 25 years. She was a Senior Program Officer for the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation and provided oversight of their investments in Out-of-School-Time and Social Emotional Learning initiatives. She also worked as a Senior Program Director for YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties where she successfully piloted the launch of middle and K-5 community school models. Most recently, she served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Greentrike, leading their work on the County wide Out-of-School Time Intermediary with a strong focus on social justice, access, and racial equity. She is currently the CEO of Amara, a nonprofit 501(c)3 partnering with people and communities most impacted by our child welfare system, to address trauma, build connections, and ultimately ensure all children, adults, and families feel safe and supported, with a commitment to equity every step of the way. Fahren is married to her husband Earnest and they have four beautiful children and five amazing grandchildren.
